Find your Bliss in Türkiye
Türkiye, made simple: Istanbul's skyline, Cappadocia's balloons and a turquoise coast
Türkiye bridges Europe and Asia: the mosques, bazaars and Bosphorus ferries of Istanbul, the fairy chimneys and cave hotels of Cappadocia, the Roman ruins of Ephesus, the white terraces of Pamukkale and a long Mediterranean and Aegean coast of coves, old harbours and the Lycian Way. It can feel busy and unfamiliar, with bargaining, taxis, prices that move and visa rules that vary by passport. This guide takes the guesswork out so you travel with confidence.

The classic Türkiye trip
Istanbul, Cappadocia and the coast
Most first trips spend three or four days in Istanbul, then take a short domestic flight to Cappadocia for two or three nights of valleys, cave churches and an early balloon flight. From there, fly or take a night bus to the coast: Izmir for Ephesus and Pamukkale, Antalya for Roman cities and beaches, or Fethiye for boat trips and the Lycian Way. Ten days covers the essentials; two weeks lets you slow down by the sea.
- Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque and the Grand Bazaar
- Sunrise balloons over Göreme
- The marble streets of Ephesus
- A gulet day on the turquoise coast

A note from our founder
A note from our founder
My first time visiting Kenya, I was genuinely surprised with how fast it began feeling like home. The people are so friendly, the food is delicious and familiar, and the accommodations are modern and upscale.
During my travels throughout the continent, I commonly hear tourists share stories about being scammed or taken advantage of, which is both frustrating and disheartening.
Living in Kenya for the last 2 years, I have had the great fortune to meet a network of wonderful Kenyans who have continuously help guide my family's journey. Their shared knowledge has not only greatly enhanced our overall experience here, but it has also saved us tons of time, energy, and resources.
With BlissPoint Travel, my hope is to build a global community that is willing to share useful, uncommon knowledge so that we can all blissfully enjoy the wonders our world has to offer.
Questions we hear most
Is Türkiye safe to visit?
Most visits to Istanbul, Cappadocia and the coast are trouble free, and violent crime against visitors is uncommon. Governments advise against travel close to the Syrian border, and there is a general terrorism threat as in much of Europe. Read your government's current travel advice before you go.
Do I need a visa for Türkiye?
It depends on your passport. Many nationalities can visit visa free for a set number of days, others apply for an e-Visa on the official government site, and some need a visa from an embassy. Check the official e-Visa site for your passport before booking, and use only that site.
How many days do I need?
A week covers Istanbul and Cappadocia. Ten days adds Ephesus or the Mediterranean coast, and two weeks lets you see the city, the valleys and the sea without rushing.
What language is spoken?
Turkish is the national language. English is common in hotels, restaurants and tourist areas, less so in small towns, where a few Turkish words and a translation app help a lot.
Is Türkiye expensive?
Prices have risen fast in recent years because of high inflation, so older blog prices are often out of date. Street food, buses and local restaurants are still good value, while Istanbul hotels, balloon flights and resort restaurants can feel close to European prices.
When is the best time to visit?
April to early June and September to October bring warm, pleasant weather for cities, ruins and the coast. July and August are hot and busy on the beaches, and winter is mild on the coast but cold and sometimes snowy in Cappadocia.
