What this website collects
This website has no accounts. If you sign up for our emails or send us a message with our form, we keep what you give us, as explained in “Emails and messages” below. The trip planner runs entirely in your browser: nothing you type into it is sent to us. It prepares a message on your screen for you to send, and until your message is ready your answers are kept only on your own device (see “Kept on your device only” below).
We do count visits and clicks with our own visit statistics, to learn which pages help people, as explained below. Those counts never include your name, phone number, email address, IP address or anything you type.
Messages you choose to send
If you send us a message, with the contact form or the trip planner, or book a call with us, we receive what you choose to send, along with the name, email address and any phone number you give us. We use it only to reply to you and to plan and look after your trip.
Emails and messages
If you sign up for our emails, we keep your email address, the topics you ticked, the page you signed up on, and when you asked and when you confirmed. We first email you a link to confirm; until you press it you get nothing else from us, and a sign-up that is never confirmed is deleted after 30 days. After that we email you new guides and trip ideas, about once a month.
Every email has a link to unsubscribe with one click, and works with your email app’s own unsubscribe button. Once you unsubscribe, we keep your address marked as unsubscribed so it is never emailed again by mistake. If an email to you bounces, or you mark one as spam, we stop emailing you too.
We send and receive email through our email provider, Resend. We add no tracking of our own to our emails. Resend tells us whether each email was delivered, and may tell us whether it was opened and which links in it were clicked: it does that with a tiny invisible image and by passing links through its own address. We keep that for each email, without your IP address or device, and remove your address from these records after 13 months. Resend’s own privacy policy applies to what it handles.
If you write to us with the form on our contact page, or email us, we keep your name, email address and message in our own inbox and pass them to our team by email, only to reply to you. We do not add you to our email list unless you sign up.
To stop bots filling in our forms, we keep a scrambled code made from your connection’s address (and, for sign-ups, from the email address typed in) for one day. It can’t be turned back into the address.
Visit statistics, without cookies
We count visits with our own visit statistics, which run on this website and keep what they record in our own database. We no longer use Vercel Web Analytics or Speed Insights, so our hosting provider, Vercel, receives no visit statistics from this website. Our visit statistics use no cookies. For each visit they record:
- the pages you view, how long each one is on your screen and how far down you scroll;
- the website, search engine or app that sent you (its name only, never the page or the search you came from), and any campaign label in the link, such as “utm_source”;
- your country, which our hosting provider works out from your connection. Never your city or region;
- the kind of device (phone, tablet or computer), and the names of its operating system and browser;
- where on a page you tap links and buttons, with the words on the link or button, to show which parts of a page are used. Never anything you type into a form;
- how fast each page loads and reacts on your device;
- error messages, if a page’s code fails on your device, with email addresses and long numbers removed;
- the clicks listed below.
To tell one visit from the next, your browser keeps a random visit code for the open tab only. It is deleted when you close the tab, and replaced after 30 minutes without activity. To count people rather than visits, our server makes a code from your IP address and browser with a random key that changes every day and is deleted after two days. Your IP address itself is never stored, and the code can’t be linked from one day to the next. Your browser also keeps a note that it has been here before, to count new and returning visitors; it holds no code and no date.
We delete these records after 90 days. After that we keep only daily totals, such as the number of visits to each page, for 25 months. They say nothing about any one visitor.
If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, we respect it: we count only the page you view, where you came from when you arrive, and how fast the page loads, with no visit code, no taps and no clicks, so nothing links one page to the next. Visits by our own team are not counted.
We also count a few clicks, each with only these details:
- Email and other contact links: which kind, and where on the page it was.
- “Plan your trip” buttons: where on the page it was.
- The trip planner: that a message was prepared and how it was sent (sent to us from the page, copied or emailed to yourself), with the number of travellers in a range (such as 3 to 4), the trip length in a range (such as 4 to 7 nights), and which kind of traveller you chose (for example coming home, or first time in Kenya).
- Links to other websites: what kind of site (our sister company, an official source or another), the page on it, and where on our page the link was.
- Links to partners that may pay us a commission: the partner’s name, the page on its site, and where on our page the link was.
- Signing up for our emails: only that it happened and where on the page the form was, never your address.
- Your answer to the cookie question, if we ask it.
Don’t count my visits
Your visits in this browser are counted as described above, without your name or anything you type.
No analytics cookies
We don’t use Google Analytics at the moment, and this website sets no analytics or advertising cookies.
Kept on your device only
Your browser keeps a few small settings for this website: your trip planner answers while you fill it in, whether you paused the moving effects, and your cookie choice. They stay on your device and are never sent to us. The planner’s answers are deleted when your message is ready or you choose “Clear form”. If you leave them, they are deleted the first time this website opens on your device 7 days or more after you last changed them. On a shared computer, choose “Clear form” when you finish. Clearing this website’s data in your browser removes all of them.
Our visit statistics keep three more, described under “Visit statistics” above: the visit code for the open tab, the note that your browser has been here before, and your choice if you ask us not to count your visits.
Sharing
We share your details only with the people who need them to deliver your trip, for example our sister company Urban Escape Luxury Cars for an airport pickup, or the travel agent who plans a group trip you asked for, and only with your agreement. We never sell your information.
Our hosting provider
Like any website, our hosting provider may keep standard technical logs, such as IP addresses and the pages requested, to keep the site running and secure.
Links to other sites
We link to other websites, such as Urban Escape Luxury Cars and official government sites. Their own privacy policies apply there. Links to Urban Escape Luxury Cars carry a short label, such as “utm_source=blisspointtravel”, that tells them which of our pages you came from. It says nothing about you.
Your choices
You can ask us what information we hold about you from your messages, and ask us to correct or delete it, by sending us a message with the contact form, during a call you book with us, or by replying to any of our emails. You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time with the link in each one.
To stop the visit statistics, use “Don’t count my visits” under “Visit statistics” above, or turn on Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track in your browser. A content blocker works too. The website works the same either way.
