A note from our founder
A note from our founder
My first time visiting Kenya, I was genuinely surprised with how fast it began feeling like home. The people are so friendly, the food is delicious and familiar, and the accommodations are modern and upscale.
During my travels throughout the continent, I commonly hear tourists share stories about being scammed or taken advantage of, which is both frustrating and disheartening.
Living in Kenya for the last 2 years, I have had the great fortune to meet a network of wonderful Kenyans who have continuously help guide my family's journey. Their shared knowledge has not only greatly enhanced our overall experience here, but it has also saved us tons of time, energy, and resources.
With BlissPoint Travel, my hope is to build a global community that is willing to share useful, uncommon knowledge so that we can all blissfully enjoy the wonders our world has to offer.
Questions we hear most
Is Fiji worth visiting?
Yes. Beyond beautiful beaches it has world-class reefs, village culture you can genuinely take part in, rainforest hikes and a famously warm welcome. It suits honeymooners, families, divers and backpackers alike.
Do I need a visa for Fiji?
Many nationalities receive a visitor permit on arrival, but the rules and length of stay depend on your passport. Check the Fiji Immigration Department website and your own government's travel advice before you book.
What currency is used in Fiji?
The Fiji dollar. Cards work in resorts, supermarkets and most restaurants in Nadi and Suva, but carry cash for markets, buses, villages and outer islands, where ATMs are rare.
What language do people speak?
English is an official language and widely spoken, alongside iTaukei (Fijian) and Fiji Hindi. Learn "Bula" (hello) and "Vinaka" (thank you) and you will use them all day.
When is the best time to go?
May to October is the drier, cooler season with lower humidity. November to April is hotter and wetter with a cyclone risk, though prices can be lower and the islands are green and quiet.
Is Fiji safe for tourists?
Generally yes, especially in resort areas. Petty theft and opportunistic crime happen in towns after dark, and ocean currents and cyclones are real risks. Read your government's current travel advice before you go.
