The classic Cyprus trip

Coast, capital and mountains in one easy loop

Most first trips split their time between two bases. Start in Paphos for the Roman mosaics, the Tombs of the Kings and sunsets at Aphrodite's Rock, then move to Limassol or Larnaca for the old town, the marina and a day in Nicosia, the last divided capital in Europe. Add a night or two in the Troodos Mountains for painted churches, cool pine air and village wineries, and a beach day at Ayia Napa or Protaras for the clearest water on the island. A week covers the highlights; ten days lets you slow down.

  • The Paphos mosaics and the Tombs of the Kings
  • Walking across the Green Line in Nicosia
  • Painted churches and wine villages in Troodos
  • Clear water at Fig Tree Bay and Cape Greco

A note from our founder

A note from our founder

My first time visiting Kenya, I was genuinely surprised with how fast it began feeling like home. The people are so friendly, the food is delicious and familiar, and the accommodations are modern and upscale.

During my travels throughout the continent, I commonly hear tourists share stories about being scammed or taken advantage of, which is both frustrating and disheartening.

Living in Kenya for the last 2 years, I have had the great fortune to meet a network of wonderful Kenyans who have continuously help guide my family's journey. Their shared knowledge has not only greatly enhanced our overall experience here, but it has also saved us tons of time, energy, and resources.

With BlissPoint Travel, my hope is to build a global community that is willing to share useful, uncommon knowledge so that we can all blissfully enjoy the wonders our world has to offer.

Questions we hear most

Is Cyprus safe for tourists?

Yes, Cyprus is generally very safe, with low violent crime. The main risks are summer heat, wildfires, strong sun, road accidents and petty theft in busy resorts. Check current government travel advice before you go.

Can I visit the north of Cyprus?

Yes, many visitors cross at official points such as Ledra Street in Nicosia. The north is administered by the Turkish Cypriot authorities, so take your passport, check insurance cover and read current government advice before crossing.

Which airport should I fly into?

Larnaca is the main airport with the most flights and suits Nicosia, Larnaca, Limassol and Ayia Napa. Paphos airport is ideal for Paphos, Coral Bay and the west.

What currency does Cyprus use?

The Republic of Cyprus uses the euro. Cards are widely accepted, though small tavernas and village shops may prefer cash. The north mostly uses the Turkish lira, with euros often accepted.

When is the best time to visit Cyprus?

April to June and September to October bring warm sea, sunshine and fewer crowds. July and August are very hot and busy. Winter is mild and green, with snow on Troodos.

Do I need a visa for Cyprus?

It depends on your passport. Cyprus is in the EU but not yet fully in the Schengen area, so check the Cyprus Ministry of Foreign Affairs website for the rules that apply to you.
